President's Report

                             Presidents Report  January 2020 Newsletter

To all DAMA NY members: Happy New Years everyone. Well its now 2020 and we have a new and wonderful year ahead of us. We hope you are ready for new and exciting topics that will become a part of our 2020 program.

Robert Abate, our Program Chair has been hard at work to get a wonderful program for this year. Before we get into the details, I have two point I want you to be aware of. First of all, most of our NYU meetings this year will not be at Kimmel. Instead they will be at 105 East 17th street, in room 105E17-HR191 (Large). Second, please make sure what day of the week the meetings are. We have a couple that may not be on a Thursday due to scheduling difficulties. Please don’t be left out in the cold. Double check and make sure.

So far we have the following Speakers scheduled: Jan 22nd   (Wednesday) Hochun-Ho, “Data Governance must Lead Data Literacy”. and June 18th, Dr Peter Aiken (Topic TBD). We are in the process of getting a great speaker for March 26th so watch closely.

DAMA Day  “Realigning your data skills to fit 2020 Challenges”.

Please mark this on your calendar, DAMA Day is May 14th. We are busy building that program as I speak. It will be hosted by AIG at 175 Water St NYC. So far, we have John Ladley and two Speaking Sponsors confirmed for the event. We are trying to get some new and exciting vendors that match up to the challenges of 2020. Please try to register early to take advantage of the early bird special for members $99.00.
