Presidents Monthly Report
Welcome to Spring 2019. Well the flowers are not here yet but the morning chill in the air is starting to fade. Last month we had a great March meeting with Dr Anne Marie Smith as our speaker. The topic was about how to have a successful data governance program. It covered why most programs fail and how to succeed with yours. We have over 50 people registered for the event. There was much to be discussed and as usual DAMA NYC members had plenty of questions. It was a great learning experience. The meeting ended at 12:30PM due to the amount of interest exhibited by those in attendance.
Well we have less than two weeks before our April meeting. Please note due to Easter and Passover we had to move the meeting up to April 11th. Also please note we are back at our regular venue which is the Kimmel center at NYU.
Our speakers are Ron Forino and Bob Veracca from Dun & Bradstreet.
The Topic is "Analytic Governance", which is a new topic. So please plan on attending the event. We have less time to register so don’t get shut out.
DAMA Day, scheduled for June 20th is starting to shape up. The Theme is “Put your Data to work”.
All Six sponsors are confirmed and we have a keynote speaker, Don Soulsby, president of Metawright and five more Sponsor Speakers who will demonstrate how to put your data to work by using Machine Learning, Data Virtualization and Augmented Analytics. These are just some examples as to what will be discussed. Please plan on attending.
Registration will soon be available on the DAMA NY website so please sign up. We will have the early bird special price of $99 for DAMA members.
Hope to see you all soon.
