                                                         "Analytic Governance"

Ron Forino &  Bob Veracca  Dun & Bradstreet

“Analytic Governance” is a relatively new practice for most companies, and as the use of Analytics continues to expand, so will the importance of Analytic Governance be to the business.  Analytic Governance builds upon the “best-practices” of other key functional areas of the business to govern the lifecycle of analytic solutions, from their creation thru retirement. Its purpose, then, is to assure that analytic results can be trusted, that the build process can be repeated and that it is managed with the proper quality controls to identify and manage risk.

At the heart of Dun & Bradstreet’s portfolio of analytic models is its D&B Global Warehouse, the largest single source of local and global business data in the world, with information on more than 140 million global businesses in over 190 countries. In support of such a complex endeavor, our Advanced Analytics organization has built a world class Analytic Governance framework designed to govern from within and from outside the model’s algorithmic structure.  Through our “Regulatory Compliance” framework, we partner with our Data Governance, Legal, Global Compliance and Security functions to assure that internal controls are in place throughout the model’s lifecycle to guarantee that our models follow a process that is repeatable, efficient, accurate, private and secure.  Our “Model Validation” framework utilizes statistical techniques to assure that subtle changes in the data, the business need or the economic environment have not eroded their effectiveness over time.

In this presentation, Ron Forino and Bob Veracca, the leaders of D&B’s Analytics Governance group, will explain how D&B’s framework has evolved to meet the needs of its customers, and will continue to expand with the growth of its Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning model portfolio.
